Sensei Tony Hails: lifetime WKF accredited coach
We’re very proud to announce that our Sensei Tony Hails 7th Dan, current mentor coach to Fiji and former Australian national coach, has been recognised with lifetime accreditation as a World Karate Federation kata and kumite coach. This is an outstanding achievement and recognises his 30+ years coaching or competing at a high international standard.

Congratulations Sensei Stuart
At the AKF National Championships in August Sensei Stuart was upgraded to National Kata Judge A. Considering Sensei Stuart’s wealth of kata knowledge this is not at all surprising, and is well earnt. Congratulations.

Congratulations Sensei Alison
At the Australian Open in April Sensei Alison successfully upgraded to Oceania Kumite Referee B. She is now at the second highest Oceania level in both kumite and kata, and remains the highest graded Ishinryu referee worldwide.

Hugely successful Pacific Games for Karate Fiji
Sensei Tony Hails had a busy few weeks in pre-training and online coaching at the Pacific Games in Port Moresby, PNG. The AKF National Championships were held in Adelaide in August, and Ishinryu in Sydney has two NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. Well done James Walker, +70kg Cadet kumite champion (again), and Ruby Lorinczi, Junior Kata Champion. These results don’t happen overnight, well done to both athletes, their families, Senseiis and many, many training partners.
