At the Australian Open in April Sensei Alison successfully upgraded to Oceania Kumite Referee B. She is now at the second highest Oceania level in both kumite and kata, and remains the highest graded Ishinryu referee worldwide.

The AKF National Championships were held in Adelaide in August, and Ishinryu in Sydney has two NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. Well done James Walker, +70kg Cadet kumite champion (again), and Ruby Lorinczi, Junior Kata Champion. These results don’t happen overnight, well done to both athletes, their families, Senseiis and many, many training partners.

The Pacific Games is a major 4-yearly event on the South Pacific calendar. Sempai James Walker is off to Croatia in July for the 8th WKF Youth Training Camp and Karate 1 WKF Youth Cup. This is a major event on the World calendar, and an important one in a Junior World Championships year. Go well James, and enjoy yourself!
