Oceania Champion!! Sempai James Walker
Being a late addition to the Australian team (yet previously a member of the U21, Junior and Cadet World Championship team) Sempai James Walker stamped his class on his U21 kumite division WINNING convincingly (9-1). Outstanding James, hard work rewarded.

NSW Cup
We had 10 keen novice students (and one very experienced international competitor!) enter the NSW Cup on 30 June. World refereeing accreditation for Sensei Alison Peachey 5th Dan
Ishinryu (worldwide) recognises it’s first WKF accredited referee. Sensei Alison Peachey 5th Dan was examined at the WKF K1 event in Dubai in February 2018 and found to meet the stringent requirements of Kumite Judge B.

Pacific Mini Games
In December this huge (not mini!) multi-sport event will be held in Port Vila, Vanuatu. Sensei Alison Peachey 5th Dan (Oceania kumite referee and kata judge) will be part of the neutral refereeing team from Australia and New Zealand.

U21, Junior and Cadet World Championships
In October Sensei Tony Hails 7th Dan (in his capacity as Mentor Coach) will be accompanying Karate Fiji to this prestigious biannual WKF event. 91 countries will be participating. We’ll be eagerly watching their progress! And you can too WKF link
