We’re thrilled to share that Sempai Carsten Schmitz-Peiffer is the new NSW State Champion in 55+ Kumite. This is his first state title and a brilliant achievement.
Sempai Carsten fought with composure and determination, coming from behind in the final bout to secure the win. His performance was a testament to perseverance, tactical focus, and the spirit of continuous improvement.
Earning a state title is no small feat. Doing so in the 55+ division, where experience meets intensity, highlights just how committed Sempai Carsten is to his own development as both a competitor and a karateka. And as he also consistently demonstrates – karate is fun.
“I kept my focus, trusted my training, and fought my way back. I’m proud of how far I’ve come.” – Sempai Carsten Schmitz-Peiffer
We’re proud to celebrate this moment with him and look forward to seeing what’s next (hint: it’s the Australian Open in April).
