2025 Australian Open Success

Ishinryu Karate Australia was proudly represented at the 2025 Australian Open, with strong performances across multiple divisions.

Sensei Michael Radermacher successfully defended his 55+ Kumite title. He showed precision, control, and dominance under pressure to once again finished on top of the podium. In the same division, Sensei Carsten Schmitz-Peiffer earned a well-deserved bronze medal. This continues his impressive year after claiming the state title in March.

Both sensei also competed in the 55+ Kata division, delivering strong performances in a highly competitive field. While no medals were won, their kata demonstrated depth, strength and technical skill.

We were also thrilled to see Cooper Hunt represent Ishinryu in the Athletes with Disability (AWD) kata division. Cooper performed a brilliant Pinan Yon. He impressed the crowd and judges alike. He earned a spot on the official Karate Australia socials for the event.

Congratulations to all three competitors for representing our dojo with skill, effort and pride on the national stage.
