Senior Karate Instructor
Sensei Michael is an instructor at the Menai dojo.
He commenced his training with Ishinryu in 1986 and graded to 1st Dan black belt in 1990. Soon after he travelled intra and interstate for work, training with Shotokan when no Ishinryu dojo was available. He has since returned to NSW and graded to 3rd Dan in 2020.
Sensei Michael continues to compete in local and international events, medalling in 2023 at the Australian and New Zealand opens in both kata and kumite.
Sensei Michael is a National kumite judge and kata judge, and State referee. He is a silver (level 2) dojo instructor, as accredited via Sport Australia / AIS.
